Important testing notes

• Scantron answer sheets must be completed using #2 pencil. The scoring machine will not read ink. Be sure to show the students how to correctly mark their choices so the machine will read them.
• For those tests with Scantron answer sheets, students should not write in the test booklets – only on the answer sheets.
• Be sure that students complete their Scantron sheets with their names, CougarID and course level. (Date and time are also helpful, but not as crucial.) If they are using the TABE, have them write the test type (9E or 10E). This will help ensure we score them using the correct key.

• Basic English 2, 3 and 6 -- Test booklets and Scantron answer sheets will be left in your mailboxes before the last week of classes.
• Basic Communication – Assessment sheets will be left in your mailbox before the last week of classes.
• TABE kits should be picked up in my office before the test. Be sure to return the test kits promptly after the test so the next person can use it. Each kit contains test booklets, Scantron answer sheets and a small pack of pencils (in case there are students who forget theirs).
• Answer sheets should be returned to me in the envelopes provided so we can keep them sorted by course level and section.
